Vasant is an image-maker from India. He teaches photography at the Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore, USA. He is also the overseas representative for the Center for Photography as an Art Form located in Bombay, India.
“In the process of photographing in the region, I discovered that there was virtually no distinction or ‘separateness’ between the daily life of the people and their religious activity. To photograph their daily life was also to photograph their spiritual concerns and beliefs.”
